High Temperature PTFE Tape is used to prevent the leakage of gas, air, and liquid through threaded connections without an integrated rubber seal. Technically known as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), is a substance with a silky touch and a stringy break. Also known as thread seal tape or pipe thread tape, this tape has several other names. Due to its extreme non-reactivity, which is partially a result of the strength of the carbon-fluorine bonds, it is frequently the material of choice for containers and piping for corrosive and reactive chemicals.
